Although I am not a professional on web design, I will tell what I think.
The web site is pleasing to the eye.
The general user interface is comfortable, although the photo browsing and navigation should be more clear.
The photos also look good, maybe should be a bit bigger.

ReplyDeleteI guess that the size of the pictures will remain that small... it's also a protection: nobody could use stolen pictures that small... :)
And besides that, the graphic designer planned it that way, and it's true that it depends a lot also on the resolution settings and the size of the screen... (I was told)
I m very concerned by the browsing and navigation problem... ANY SUGGESTIONS? any specific thoughts? Can't think of solutions... can't "see" things anymore... passed too much time on it...

and if you could delete some series of pictures wich stories would you take out to get a stronger feeling?

Ciao Reto, è un po' che seguo il tuo blog e sapendo da Uris che la pagina sarebbe andata presto online ero più che curioso cosa avrebbe proposto il trio (...). e questa è la volta buona x scriverti un commento, spesso avrei 'quasi voluto' scriverti o lasciare una traccia, ecco qua:
ReplyDeleteil primo impatto è molto piacevole all'occhio e lo resta fino alla pagina 'weddings', secondo me troppo chiara, quasi abbagliante. altrimenti complimenti x la grafica! al limite si potrebbe discutere di allineamenti e ritmo nei bottoni, ma questo è gusto personale ;-)
per quanto riguarda il contenuto, secondo me tutto ok tranne la pagina dei matrimoni, è un po' tanto scarna. ma magari preferisci tenerla staccata. l'impatto della pagina linkata al blog (www.retowedding.blogspot.com) secondo me è più forte, cmq è tutt'altro publico.
x quanto riguarda la navigazione delle foto (vedi Noam) magari basta sistituire il trattino (-) con'of'.
e il bottone end? non ne comprendo l'utilizzo, ma magari non funzia
con firefox su Mac OSX.
x le foto, secondo me van benissimo, essenziali e minimalisti ok, ma non esagerare quando si tratta di mostrare quello che meglio sai fare. a me piacerebbe addiritura un commento alla singola serie, magari nel campo a destra? un po' come nelle pagine di strates, non alla singola foto ma alla serie.
in tutto e per tutto mi paice molto.

so che a locarno eri in giro con uris... ci siamo quasi incrociati... grazie per il commento!
(end) deve effettivamente sparire prima o poi, ma non so ancora come far ricominciare l'effetto "apparizione a mo di flash passando col cursore" una volta terminata la serie... ma forse non è necessario e ri-cliccare sul titolo della serie appena vista... che dici?
anche a me la pagian wedding sorprende sempre per il suo effetto acciecante... ma pr tutto quello che è concetto grafico mi fido molto di mattea (eh si la grafica bregagliotta che vive a zurigo) e rispetto anche molto la sua essenzialità... Ma ci rifletto sicuramenre ancora!
ho paura ad inserire altri testi...
posso fare un piccolo commento alla singola foto e penso che la srfuttero almeno per i progetti personali... anche perchè essendo la fotografia anche giornalistica è importante sapere di cosa si tratta (penso sopratutto a palestina).
Tanti soggetti son spariti: iran, kosovo, matrimonio rom, etc... ma credo che saranno da vedere su strates... qui voglio essere pulito e possibilmente d'impatto. Deve rimanere vetrina di presentazione e meno luogo di commercio. Ma rimango tuttoraconfuso!!!

About browsing I meant when I choose a project and want to change between photos, the controls are very small, and in the first time it even takes time to find them...
I think making them bigger will catch the searching eye and make it easier to click with the mouse.

ReplyDeleteyou knew that I'll break your cazz anyway so I'll do:
1 - I agree on the fact that pics are too small (editors hate to look a small pics...)
2 - careful with all that dark gray around, a lot of pics look dark to me (on a calibrated screen) I'd lighten them a bit for the web (they may look great without the gray around...)
3 - for my personal taste I'd put the verticals linked to the right side and not to the left. I think they'll be more away from the text on the left and so more readable.
That said you know I'm picky! And The hassy just came back form repair and it's a beauty.

Salut Reto, le site est bien, joli et classe.
ReplyDeletepour certaines images, je trouve que c'est un peu petit (p. ex. le projet autour du mur, les paysages, en général, mériteraient plus d'espace).
Pour les assignment ne me plaisent pas tous (c'est normal), mais est-ce que tu veux tout mettre, ou uniquement ceux dont tu es le plus fier? juste comme ça.
Et enfin, les liens, je pense que tu devrais faire ouvrir une nouvelle fenêtre au navigateur, et pas remplacer ta fenêtre.
mais en gros, c'est très bien.
sinon, j'espère que tu te portes bien. j'ai cru comprendre qu'il y avait du travail, des choses bien et intéressantes, enfin, ils ont compris quoi faire de toi...
